SMALL INTESTINE

In the small intestine's upper course, the digestive juices flow into the liver as bile and pancreatic secretions. Both serve to digest fat and, as a result, also absorb fat-soluble vitamins.

These are vitamins A, D, K, and E.

In the small intestine, the absorption of sugar, protein, and fat takes place over 200-400m 2, and the absorption of all vitamins and minerals.

LARGE INTESTINE

All food components should already have been extracted here. Then, the nutrient water is recovered in the large intestine, and the pulp is thickened and stored until the next bowel movement. And goodbye!

THERAPY

Regardless of the cause or symptoms, there are simple but powerful ways to aid digestion. From what has just been described, it can be deduced:

·        Deliciously prepare your meal! Your eyes eat too!

·        Eat a reasonably average serving

·        Chew it! Chew it! Chew it!

·        Eat slowly!

·        Do not drink anything with your meal!

·        Add bitter substances to your food!

BITTER SUBSTANCES

In particular, Bitter salads should be mentioned here: chicory, radicchio, sugarloaf, or rocket, which are ideally incorporated into the menu as a starter. Alternatively - but not as a direct recommendation - you could drink an aperitif. Even with the conventional mixed salad as a starter, this is served with vinegar, supporting the stomach acid's function.

SUPPORT YOUR DIGESTION WITH FOOD SUPPLEMENTS

Bitter plant extracts have provided nutritional support for digestion since ancient times. The rank of zinc in gastric hydrochloric acid production and "good" intestinal bacteria is worth mentioning.

·        Focus: Gut Balance, three × one capsule with a meal

·        Zinc 30, 1 × one tablet in the evening

·        Symbiose Plus, three × one capsule with a meal

In the twilight, before going to bed, I recommend balancing the acid-base balance

·        Base regeneration, one × two capsules before bed

Of course, longer phases with digestive disorders can lead to glaring micronutrient deficiencies. However, micronutrient deficits and their necessary supplementation in the blood are optimally detected.

Those who do not have this option or do not want a comprehensive blood analysis can use a complete multivitamin preparation. I then advise my patients to take twice the recommended dose, as there may be an admission disorder or make up for a deficit.
